Joseph Samione, Jr.: 1943-2026

Posted

Heaven got louder on August 7, 2026, when Joseph Samione, Jr. passed away surrounded by his loving family.

Joe was born in Spokane in 1943 and spent most of his life in the Seattle area. He graduated from Queen Anne High School and served his country in the National Guard before beginning a career in retail leadership with Pay N’ Save and Payless. Determined to follow his passions for people, golf, and food, Joe went on to own and manage several independent restaurants and small cafés. In retirement, he spent much of his time on the golf course, including marshaling at Wigwam Golf Club in Arizona.

Always the life of the party, Joe charmed those around him with lively storytelling, nonstop laughter, loud conversations, and enthusiastic dancing. His authentic care for people, limitless generosity, and unmistakable joy were hallmarks of a life well-lived.

Above all his roles in life, Joe was most proud to be “Papa” to his four grandchildren, whom he loved and spoiled with his whole heart.

Joe leaves behind a legacy of family, love, laughter, and lives made better by his time here.

He is survived by a wealth of family and friends, including his wife, Candis; his children, Jill, Kevin (Jami), and Paul; and his grandchildren, Jacob, Megan (Blake), Siena, and Karmen. He is also survived by his sisters, Juanita and Connie, and his brothers, Ted and Gary.
