Sophomore back Kate Baldock, second from right, celebrates with teammates after scoring the winning goal for Emerson College on Oct. 10.

The Edmonds resident, who played for Edmonds-Woodway High School, scored her first goal of the season with 2:30 remaining in regulation to lift Emerson to a 1-0 victory over the United States Coast Guard Academy.

It came during a New England Women’s and Men’s Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) women’s soccer matchup at Rotch Field. Baldock’s late winner marks her first career match-winning strike, netting the lone goal off a corner kick from Finlee Mills, with a shot into the left side of the net, and her first goal of the season.

Emerson College is in Boston.
