Haircut 100, a British pop group from the ’80s, will make a special appearance at Musicology Co. in advance of their performance Aug. 14 at Marymoor Park in Redmond.
Members will be at the Fifth Avenue South record shop 7-8 p.m. Aug. 12 for a meet-and-greet and album signing.
The band, with founding members Nick Heyward (lead vocals/guitars), Graham Jones (guitars), Les Nemes (bass) and five additional players, will perform at Marymoor with other ’80s icons Howard Jones (wait for it, wait for it) and ABC (who got the look?).
Although Haircut 100 (the band debuted as Haircut One Hundred) had several top hits in the U.K., their only song to make the charts in the U.S. was "Love Plus One" (ay ay ay ay ay ah).
Musicology will have four tickets to give away to the Marymoor show; all who attend are entered to win.
"Through a chance encounter, I had the most wonderful time getting to know the amazing team bringing Haircut 100 to the U.S. for their first time touring here in 40-plus years,” Musicology owner Rachel Gardner said.
“We can't wait to show them around Edmonds and give them a warm welcome to our city. This is a great opportunity for our customers and community to get a chance to meet Nick, Les, and Graham in person and hear about what it's like to have been part of the new wave movement in the ’80s."
Attendees can register in advance to guarantee a spot.
